Woah did Tumblr just take a time trip?

“Do you take kitty naps during da day? Or pwetend to ‘cuz ghosts don’t sweep…” Vlad asked. He wanted to see for himself what Clockwork did as a cat, and now found himself wishing he had some of Maddie’s old cat toys within reach for him to experiment with. Vlad went from scratching the time ghost’s ears, to scratching under his chin.
“You tan tew me to sut up if I askin’ too many twestions.”
The chin’s the sweet spot. Clockwork leaned in, lifting one of his front paws in pleasure. Purr. Purrrr.
“I do.” Pretty simple answer, but he did nap during the day. Not as much as a normal cat, of course, but he certainly did. As for the second statement, “You aren’t.”

“So whiwe you aw a kitty, you have kitty in-stints? Do you chase mice wike oder kitties?” Vlad asked. He wasn’t sure why, but he was really curious about Clockwork’s actions while in this form. He was starting to think the ghost was adorable like that.
Clockwork tilted his head to the side, opening his eyes at last. So, he was curious about his cat form, was he? Most usually questioned him about his time roles. It was a change of pace, to say the least. “Yes and no,” he mewed. “I have cat instincts, as you said, but I do not chase mice. I do tend to be more nocturnal as a cat in the sense I am more active during the mortal world’s nighttime, and I also engage in behaviors on occasion that not even I understand.” Like the chasing of yarn balls. Put catnip or a yarn ball in front of him and Clockwork wouldn’t help but bat at it.

Vlad realized he was scratching his cast, and pulled his hand away with a nervous chuckle. “It vewy itchy. It might stop soon…..I fink it might be a widdle of bof.” He replied.
“You wike dis, don’t you?”
Clockwork bobbed his head a bit. Of course it was itchy; why else would he be tempted to scratch it?
The cat snorted yet again at the question. He hadn’t yet opened his eyes again. “Cats usually enjoy this sort of attention,” he confirmed. “I am no exception to that.”

“Otay good.” Vlad replied, smiling when Clockwork leaned into his hand. “Aw you sure it was steaf and not ‘cuz Jack is not vewy smart?” It seemed lately that everytime he saw Clockwork, he was a cat, so hanging with him now didn’t seem all that out of place. Understanding him was still taking some getting used to. He absentmindedly scratched at his cast above the spot where it was still itching.
Clockwork caught Vlad, though. Oh, he caught it. He gave Vlad’s hand a glance with one eye, the other eye currently closed from the pleasure of being stroked. “You are very persistent on that itch,” he observed before once again closing his eye. He stretched his jaws in a yawn as he answered the teen’s question, “It could be both things in combination.” Clockwork didn’t get into much trouble as a feline insofar that he had gotten rather confident about it. Besides, of course, getting kicked by careless humans.

“Danks.” Vlad said, reaching over to scratch behind Clockwork’s ears. “My wast kitty ruined my chairs. She scwatched dem up. So I gave her to a she-ter” He said.
“Wait, how has Jack not found you? “
Clockwork leaned into the teen’s touch, purring softly and lifting one front paw subconsciously. He always liked being petted, even if it was only a special few that he allowed the privilege. He hummed, “I won’t scratch up your chairs.”
It was funny reflecting back on that, though. Cats are adorable creatures.
At the mention of Jack, the cat snorted. “Stealth,” was all that he replied with. Australian Shepherds were no match for the ghost of time.

“You’re a ghost. You could be invisble. But it doesn’t bover me one way or anoder…as wong as you don’t ruin my chairs.” He said, looking at the cat still. He reached out to scratch behind Clockwork’s ears, then stopped, realizing who it was, and what he was about to do. “Uh…sowwy.”
Clockwork was pretty sure he didn’t shed that much. Or at all. After all, he was a ghost. He watched Vlad’s hand for a moment, then tilted his head when he drew it back. Well, then. “You can pet me,” the cat clarified, “if you want.” He was a bit hesitant accepting it, but he trusted this Vlad. He had had issues with someone picking him up against his will in the past, but he was sure that person learned his lesson.
